Informative Articles and Programs

Often times the Foundation or regional Cairn Terrier clubs sponsor informative programs on Cairn health. We are more than happy to publicize these events, podcasts and webinars.

Additionally, we either run across or author articles that we feel are important to the health of your dog. Those articles are published on this page under Informative Articles.

How do you really know if you have CMO in your kennel? Do you know the symptoms? Do you know the age CMO shows up in Cairns? Did you know that you can have an asymptomatic Cairn that is affected by CMO? And more importantly, if that asymptomatic Cairn is bred, it can pass on the disease to its offspring. There is much misconception about CMO and many breeders think they have accurate information about this inherited disease, but don't. There is now an inexpensive, accurate, easy cheek swab test available that takes the mystery out of knowing if you have this potentially fatal condition in your breeding dogs. To find out more about CMO, what to look for, where to obtain the test click on the title, and read the heartbreaking true story of one pup's battle with CMO click here.
